Cover Reveal: The DC Encyclopedia New Edition, Coauthored by Nick Jones, Out Now!

Interrupting my series of idiosyncratic posts on Hot Toys, I noticed over the festive period there was a cover up on Amazon (and other online retailers) for my next book, namely the latest edition of The DC Encyclopedia. This is the third edition of the book I've cowritten (following the 2016 All-New Edition and the 2021 New Edition), but this time I also acted as consultant, contributed some picture research and helped out on project management (mostly marshalling the other authors), so I'm (almost) literally all over this one. It's out in March, so I'll endeavour to post something nearer the time about my contributions and those of my excellent coauthors, editors and designers, but for now I thought showcasing Wonder Woman and Dark Crisis artist Daniel Sampere's splendid cover composition, arranged around the restored classic DC logo, would be a fine way to kick off 2026. Happy new year!

Update 6/3/26: Well The DC Encyclopedia is now out, and true to form I haven't found the time to do another post on it. So instead I thought I'd post Daniel Sampere's full wraparound cover plus a few interior pages. The Harley Quinn entry above is one that I wrote the update for, along with the entries for Aquaman (both Arthur Curry and Jackson Hyde), Flash (Wally West), Lobo, Arsenal, Raven and well over a hundred others, plus countless other entries where as consultant I was required to do some additional writing. Besides myself, the authors this time numbered Melanie Scott, Matthew Manning, Dan Brooks and Scott Beatty, while Martin Eden and Kate Lloyd handled the editing, and Amazing15 designed and oversaw the whole shebang.

I haven't seen a printed copy yet, but I'll be up in London later today, so hopefully I'll find some copies out in the wild, and may well update this post again then.
