I've so many books to read I'm trying not to investigate too many "new" authors now, so Kennington was quite far down my list. But I'll be interested to see what you think... and if he turns out to be good, I'll probably embark on a feverish hunt myself!Nick Jones (Louis XIV, the Sun King)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17716508525331235684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5448581132479481740.post-11384529452928196492012-09-03T21:05:17.465-04:002012-09-03T21:05:17.465-04:00Nick -

Amazingly, one was in my local branch of the CPL: Young Man with a Scythe. And I managed to find and purchase a cheap paperback copy of Bagful of Bones though an online bookseller in Brooklyn, NY. Apparently it was the only one for sale. (The one currently listed at abebooks.com is the one I bought, BTW, so don't bother.) Reviews soon to follow at my blog.J F Norrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06473487417479127354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5448581132479481740.post-53958266109731658692012-08-25T06:47:43.899-04:002012-08-25T06:47:43.899-04:00Very interested, polecat, and very interesting. I must say I'm intrigued to try one of Kennington's novels myself, but let me know how you get on with Hemlock Galore.Nick Jones (Louis XIV, the Sun King)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17716508525331235684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5448581132479481740.post-8748228887386499952012-08-24T17:23:06.173-04:002012-08-24T17:23:06.173-04:00Thank you for your fascinating bits of Hubbard eph...Thank you for your fascinating bits of Hubbard ephemera. Just in case you're interested, here's the dustjacket of what is probably the only edition of Kennington's Hemlock Galore. Not a great cover, but for what it's worth:

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/525/img0001jgz.jpg/

I haven't read it, but I probably will, given that Hubbard seems to have been interested in him (though he might have been just politely following up a chance acquaintance).polecathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15293284921429573528noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5448581132479481740.post-51147150131958275142011-11-05T06:47:21.384-04:002011-11-05T06:47:21.384-04:00You might have a bit of a wait, BG: I can't se...You might have a bit of a wait, BG: I can't see any readily available copies of either online. As to the ephemera, I knew there was a letter inside the book, but I had no idea what it was about, or to whom to was written. So yes: a good find!

John, I'll wait to see if you have any luck tracking down any Kennington...Nick Jones (Louis XIV, the Sun King)https://www.blogger.com/profile/17716508525331235684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5448581132479481740.post-11525486669330241382011-11-04T20:21:26.372-04:002011-11-04T20:21:26.372-04:00This was definitely worth the wait.
Did you know ...This was definitely worth the wait.

Did you know you were getting this stuff when you bought the book or did these things fall out when you opened up the book? A thrilling find in any case.

I like knowing that my American edition has the English text.

Hemlock Galore and Young Man with a Scythe - can't wait to hear more about those.Book Gluttonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14569975755798562829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5448581132479481740.post-19950331581717528682011-11-04T17:03:20.805-04:002011-11-04T17:03:20.805-04:00Amazing find!
