No one, period.

I specially like his ability to give a humorous touch to his comments on others and situations.Richhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06329540053177401794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5448581132479481740.post-90339707273768603292013-10-18T06:42:51.528-04:002013-10-18T06:42:51.528-04:00Awesome. Durant and Wu are also two of my favorite characters.

The scope of OOTR is pretty large. There's quite a cast of characters. So yeah, we have to share Artie and Quincy with a lot of other folks, but it's still one helluva book. Plus, the first book's plot intricately involved the two master conmen, specially Quincy. CC prepares the groundwork as a sort-of origin story, details which are never gone over again quite as deeply in the other two novels. OOTR is more Booth Stallings story than anyone else's.

Also,quality-wise, Chinaman's Chance is gernerally regarded as RT's masterpiece. Well, The Fools in Town are on our Side is as well, by CC is definitely up there too. So the fact that OOTR is not quite as engaging as CC is understandable.

Still, ANY Ross Thomas novel is better than 95% of whatever else is out there.Dave Plantenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5448581132479481740.post-49260393843113613552013-10-18T05:44:54.606-04:002013-10-18T05:44:54.606-04:00Thanks for the comments all.
